[slides into the seat across from her, giving the driver instructions and then sitting back] Well, you’d better get used to it. I only give the best for my humans. [smiles] Say, how would you like to meet Russell when we’re back? He’s told me that he would adore meeting you.
*giggles and covers her face with his hands* Stop it. You’re making me blush. *looks up at him and nods* Of course. He’s your husband, right? I’d love to meet him. He must be very nice if you love him.
How about both? I can never say no to underwear shopping. [chuckles] You already look good, sweetheart, but it never hurts to have a whole variety of outfits at your fingertips. It’s the least I can give you for all you do for me.
Yay! *turns and hugs him enthusiastically before letting go and grabbing his arm again* Thank you. *blushes slightly before smiling at him again* Well, where can we go? Do you know any stores around here?
It’s probably still crazy out there, but I’ll protect you. What are we shopping for?
Okay. *grabs his arm* Well, we could find you some nice underwear or you buy me dresses. Because you feed from me and I feel like you need to make sure I look good, right? In case I ever get to meet more of your friends.
It might also keep other vampires off you. I only want you feeding me, understand? Well, Russell too if he asks, but I won’t let him kill you. You’re under my protection now. So if anyone else bites you, I need to know about it so I can put an end to them at once.
I won’t cut it. Just style it a bit differently. [reaches out to brush a lock of it behind her ear] It truly is a beautiful color.
Yes. You said that before. I mean, I wouldn’t particularly mind being bitten… *looks away and clears her throat* I mean, it’s fine. Won’t happen.
Good. *smiles and blushes a little as Talbot brushes her hair back* Thank you.
[releases her before her heartbeat can slow and smiles again] Thanks, Sarah. Want me to heal those puncture marks? And it’s time to do your hair since I’m taking you shopping later. I have a book of styles I can do if you want to look through it.
*takes her hand back and rubs over the marks, shaking her head* Nah, it’s fine. Shows weird people not to mess with me. Worked before *laughs* Well, alright. Nope, you can do whatever you want. Just don’t cut it, I like it long.
[smiles brightly] I think we can get the help to make some steak for you. The tour will be fun, I promise. And just mind the antiques, especially the Greek ones. Anything else, you can touch.
Yes, I would like that. *smiles up at him* Oh, awesome. Do you have marble floors and very heavy curtains? Does Russell have a crown? Oh, I’m so excited, I don’t think I’ve been this excited since… *hesitates for a moment* My wedding day. *looks up at Talbot* Steve’s okay with me being here, right? I mean, I don’t mind him, but he was kinda mean the last time I saw him. I don’t want you to get in trouble with him for bringing me here, you know?
[sighs] I can try. Let’s see how it goes. Sarah, you remember our first meeting as a pleasant one. I invited you here to show you the manor. The biting and restraints never happened. You know I’m a vampire, but somehow it doesn’t bother you. You don’t want to hurt me or Russell. Also… you’re glad Steve’s a vampire, but you don’t hate him. You’re not hurt that your marriage ended and you don’t really miss it. You’re ready to move on from it and from the Fellowship.
[steps back and looks away from her]
Stares at him and only looks away when Talbot does also, stays silent for a few moments before looking back at him* So, are you going to show me around now? You promised and I haven’t seen anything yet. *gets up and walks up to him* And I’m hungry. I know you don’t eat, but you do remember I do, right? So…. how about some Steak and then I’ll get the grand tour? *smiles sweetly up at him* Please? I swear I won’t touch anything.
[places her down on a table, strapping her to it and laughing as she struggles to hit him] Just for that, I suppose I’ll have to restrain your hands too. You can’t just go around hitting vampires and pulling their hair, sweetheart. Surely you’re smarter than that. [restrains her hands in chains and steps back to dust off his clothing] Much better.
*glares at him* You can’t do that. You can’t just lock me up here.
[keeps her pinned easily despite her struggles, drinking enough to weaken her in hopes that it’ll calm her down a bit] Jesus, you’d think I was actually trying to kill you. You’re lucky I’m not. But you’re much too amusing to not keep alive, my dear. Don’t fret.
*stares up at him, shivering* Go away. I’m not your toy, child of hell.
Talbot wrapped his arms around his new progeny, nuzzling his cheek against hers. “You can call me however you wish. Master seems a little cold, so I would never prefer that. Maker or Father work much better. Wouldn’t you agree?” He pulled back slightly to give her yet another smile. He missed Russell, but it was clear who he would be spending all his time with tonight. It frightened Talbot a little, how content he was to just stay by her side even if they were just adoring each other all night. But it was exhilarating at the same time. “Would you… like me to help you clean up?” he asked, hoping it didn’t sound too intrusive. But he wanted to, and he hoped she wouldn’t be uncomfortable with the idea.
Sarah hummed in approval, wrapping her arms around him to hold him close. The vibrations in his chest as he spoke went right through her, sending pleasurable shivers down her spine. "Yes… father", she whispered as he looked at her, a happy smile evident on her lips. It was clear that she really wasn’t ready to let go of him. At his question she looked up at him, biting her lip as she gave him a tiny, shy nod. “I’d like that…”, she answered as she still looked up at him. Without even realizing it she leaned closer to him, somehow craving his touch and his love, even though she didn’t know why.
Talbot withdrew his hand from her a little reluctantly, surprised at how powerful this felt. He’d expected it with Russell because they had been in love, but he hadn’t realized this was how it would feel to have a progeny. “I wouldn’t be saying it if it weren’t true. I have no reason to need to flatter you,” he answered easily. Talbot allowed her continued touch, finding he liked it too much to tell her to stop or urge her to go clean up. “Then I don’t expect you to stop…” He gave her an uncharacteristically sheepish smile, then leaned in and kissed her cheek. “My childe,” he whispered, loving the sound of it.
Sarah was now smiling at Talbot, her hand dancing absently over his cheek. It was just too amazing of a feeling. Was it going to be this way forever? Because if it was, Sarah never wanted to move from Talbot side. This was as close to heaven as she could ever get, she figured. "Thanks", she mumbled, staring up at him with absolute adoration in her eyes. As Talbot leaned in and kissed her cheek she sighed happily, moving closer to rest her head on his shoulder. "How… how should I call you? Maker? Master? Father? I’ve heard it all before…", she whispered. She loved the sound of the word childe. It made her feel safe and loved on so many different levels.
Talbot gasped softly at her reaction to his touch, a shiver going down his spine. It brought back bittersweet memories of just after Russell had turned him. How he longed for those times. But it was nice to experience it with Sarah now, to feel how much she adored him, even if most of that was probably because of his blood. “You’ll get used to that as well,” he said, brushing away the blood on her lip with his finger as the little cut healed itself.
He turned his head, leaning into her touch and placed a light kiss on one of her fingers. “I’ve always looked like this, my dear, but you did not have your sharp vision before. And now, even covered in dirt, you are even more gorgeous than before,” he returned with a soft chuckle.
Sarah couldn’t take her eyes off Talbot face. Her eyes only closed as she felt his finger on her lip, ridding her of the blood. A slight, content sigh left her at the feeling of his skin on hers. She didn’t even know why she felt like this. Right now she was more comfortable with Talbot than she had ever been with anyone else.
Hesitantly she opened her eyes at his words, expecting to blush madly. But as no such reaction came she looked down and shook her head. "You’re only saying that. It’s not true…", she whispered. Her hand still rested on his cheek and she really did not want to break contact with him, no matter how desperately she needed the shower right now. "Your skin… it feels so good when I touch you." Slowly she looked up, carefully biting her lip. She wasn’t used to feeling like this, so perfectly comfortable, so amazingly at ease around someone else.
I can’t tell you how sorry I am, Sarah. Sorry doesn’t even cut it. I just don’t know what to say anymore.
*looks down* I’m sorry too. But…. *bites her lip and looks up at him* I love you…
-stares at her in confusion- You’ve got nothing to apologize for. I love you too… but… why? Why would you still want to be with me after what I did? I don’t think even God will care if I didn’t mean it. I’m still goin’ to hell.
I don’t know… I just…. *covers her face as she starts crying* I-I… *sobs and tries to hide her face from Steve*
